A National Register-listed farm, the Fred McMahan Farm, off Pittman Center Road, features a turn of the 20th century farmhouse, now under restoration, and an amazing array of farm buildings.

The property’s cantilevered barn is one of the largest in the region—it probably dates c. 1850 but might be earlier.

There also are other period buildings including scales and cribs.

The MTSU Center for Historic Preservation is presently working with the family on heritage development plans for this important Tennessee Century Farm.
